THE body of a Mijas 50-year-old man who went missing last Friday was found near Los Pilones stream in the town. Friends, relatives and volunteers had been searching for Antonio, who went out to pick asparagus with friends but failed to return to the group. His body had to be recovered by Guardia Civil divers.
The Guardia Civil are investigating the cause of death, and although his body was covered in injuries and bruises, it is thought this was caused by the strong current of the river. It appears his death was accidental.
The search continues for Francisco Ruiz Galan, 63, who is also missing from Mijas and was last seen neat La Vega petrol station in Las Lagunas.
